Alex Schroeder developed the wiki engine [[Oddmuse]] (see the  [http://www.oddmuse.org Oddmuse Wiki] site), which is derived from [[UseModWiki]].

In the area of software wikis, he founded [http://www.emacswiki.org Emacs Wiki] and [[Oddmuse Wiki]]

After founding Emacs Wiki, he was one of the founders of [[CommunityWiki]].

In his About page on Emacs Wiki Alex Schroeder writes: "I actually think that political issues are more important than writing software or talking about software. Generally speaking I think political issues involving human rights are the most important ones."
