Helmut Leitner is an Austrian software developer who developed [[ProWiki]] and founded [[FractalWiki]]. 
He also founded (or helped found) DseWiki, BücherWiki and GründerWiki. He is in addition a wiki provider (WikiService).

In 2000, Helmut Leitner was reading every page in WardsWiki (about 12000 at the time), and categorizing pages as he went. He added categories to about 200-300 pages in the course of one week. He also added about 20 new categories. This provoked a page of reaction entitled [http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?PleasePleaseDontCategorizeEveryPageOnWiki PleasePleaseDontCategorizeEveryPageOnWiki], to which his supporters replied with [http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?PleasePleaseDoCategorizeEveryPageOnWiki PleasePleaseDoCategorizeEveryPageOnWiki].

According to the [http://www.usemod.com/cgi-bin/mb.pl?AtelierInterWiki AtelierInterWiki] on MeatballWiki, Helmut Leitner reanimated the [[TourBus]] idea of John De Bruyn and supported the idea of [[WikiNode]].
