Ralph Johnson was one of the original members of the Hillside Group. He is on the PatternsList of InvitedAuthors whom Ward Cunningham first asked to contribute to WikiWikiWeb because they were interested in PatternLanguage. It seems moreover that Ralph Johnson may have created the mailing list that was used as the PatternsList. ==Biography== Ralph E. Johnson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He was an early pioneer in the Smalltalk community and is a continued supporter of the language. Ralph Johnson is one of the Gang of Four (GoF) that co-authored the influential Computer science textbook, Design Patterns. He has held several executive roles at the ACM Object-Oriented Programing, Systems, Languages and Applications (OOPSLA) conference, and attends every year. He initiated the popular OOPSLA Design Fest workshop. ==Links== *http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralph_Johnson *http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?RalphJohnson
