Richard Helm is an internationally known authority on software architecture and design, and has published extensively. He is one of the [[Gang of Four]] who co-authored the award winning Design Patterns book. Richard Helm was on the list of [[InvitedAuthors]] whom [[Ward Cunningham]] first solicited to contribute to [[WikiWikiWeb]]. ==Biography== Richard Helm obtained a B.Sc(Hons) and a Ph.D from The University of Melbourne, Australia. He began his career as a research scientist at IBM's Thomas J. Watson Research Center in New York. His career spans high technology research, product development, systems integration, and IT consulting. He worked with IBM Global Services and DMR. Richard Helm is currently with The Boston Consulting Group where he consults on the strategic application of technology to business. He was awarded the 2005 ACM Programming Languages Award. The Gang of Four was awarded the AITO Dahl-Nygaard Prize for 2006.
