I initially created this website in mid-2007 hoping that it would become a wiki devoted to the promotion of [[Convivial Tools]].

In late 2007 I created a separate [Convivial Tools website http://convivialtools.net]. At that time I had already created a significant number of pages about wikis on the present site (wikis being a good example of a "convivial tool"). It thus seemed appropriate to consacrate the present site entirely to the subject of [[Wikis]], and to the people, websites, software and concepts relating thereto.

However, my attention soon turned elsewhere, and the present site stagnated during all of 2008 and much of 2009. Meanwhile I realized that wikis have gone mainstream, and that the subject has become both banal and overly vast. In coming back to the site today (in July 2009) to do a bit of [[Refactoring]], it seems more appropriate to limit the scope of the site to [[Wiki History]].
